Tim Westergren
Chief Executive Officer

Tim Westergren, one of our founders, served as our Chief Creative Officer and Treasurer from February 2000 to May 2002, as our Chief Executive Officer and President from May 2002 to July 2004, as our Chief Strategy Officer from July 2004 to February 2014, and was appointed as Chief Executive Officer in March 2016. He has served as a member of our board of directors from the company’s inception. Prior to founding Pandora, Mr. Westergren worked as an independent musician, composer, and record producer and has over 20 years of experience in the music industry spanning production, audio engineering, film scoring and live performance. Tim is an award-winning composer and accomplished musician – trained as a jazz pianist, his musical background spans such genres as rock, blues, jazz and classical music. Mr. Westergren holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University, where he studied computer acoustics and recording technology. Tim started the popular personalized radio service in 2000 with the Music Genome Project.

Nick Bartle
Chief Marketing Officer

Nick is Pandora's Chief Marketing Officer and responsible for leading marketing and communications programs that accelerate listener growth and engagement, and support the company's goal of giving listeners the most personal music experience in the world.

Nick was previously at LinkedIn, where he served as Vice President of Member Marketing and Communications. In this role, he drove marketing communications to the professional networking site’s 450 million plus members.

Prior to joining LinkedIn, Bartle was Senior Director of Marketing Communications for Apple for more than four years, where he played key roles in the marketing and advertising of multiple successful product launches, including the iPhones from 4s to 6 Plus, iPad Air and the Apple Watch. Earlier in his career, Bartle held senior roles at BBDO, Goodby, and Silverstein & Partners developing digital, print and television campaigns for Starbucks, New Balance, E*TRADE and HP.

His favorite Pandora stations are Miles Davis Quintet, Buena Vista Social Club, Kruder & Dorfmeister, and Questlove Supreme.

Steve Bené
General Counsel
As General Counsel at Pandora, Steve Bené oversees all aspects of the company’s legal strategy, operations and compliance, including those related to corporate governance, securities, commercial transactions, privacy, litigation and intellectual property.

Prior to joining Pandora, Steve served as General Counsel at Electronic Arts (EA), where he ran a global department responsible for a full range of legal matters ranging from corporate governance, M&A and commercial transactions to groundbreaking industry negotiations with music and movie studios. Prior to joining EA, Steve was an associate at Fenwick & West and a management consultant at Bain & Company.

Steve got his J.D. from Stanford Law School, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Rice University. Outside of work, Steve enjoys fitness training, swimming, skiing, and attending his sons’ high school basketball games. He is a shameless fan of pop music – all flavors and eras.

Naveen Chopra
Chief Financial Officer
Naveen Chopra is the CFO of Pandora where he is responsible for finance, corporate development and strategy, investor relations, facilities and CIO functions.

Naveen was previously at Tivo, where he served as the company’s interim chief executive officer from January 2016 until its acquisition by Rovi Corporation in September 2016. During his tenure at TiVo, Naveen guided the company through a critical financial and strategic transformation while building respected relationships with employees, investors, analysts and strategic business partners. From 2012 to 2016, Chopra served as chief financial officer and senior vice president of corporate development and strategy and was responsible for overseeing numerous strategic initiatives in addition to TiVo’s accounting, financial reporting, planning, tax and treasury functions.

Chopra holds bachelor degrees in computer science and economics from Stanford University and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He currently serves as a member of the board of directors of Vonage Holdings Corp.

David Gerbitz
Executive Vice President, Revenue Operations

David Gerbitz joined Pandora Media in 2014, as the Executive Vice President of Revenue Operations, where he is responsible for monetization and yield strategy, client services and advertising operations; driving Pandora’s growth engine across all digital and broadcast solutions, across all devices and all demand channels.

Previous to Pandora, David was the Vice President of global mid-market and small medium business sales at Yahoo! He also led client services as the Vice President of North America account management, sales and advertising operations. David was responsible for operationalizing sales, service and revenue on all digital platforms and solutions including search, display, native, mobile, video advertising as well as SMB self-service and commerce platforms. David was also General Manager of Microsoft Advertising’s sales strategy, operations and account management. He also held leadership positions at His career has been focused on scaling and operationalizing revenue and service organizations in the hyper-dynamic digital media industry.

David received his BA from the University of Minnesota. He has diverse music interests from classical to country; indie folk to rock and R&B - and most everything in between. His current Pandora station favorites: Miranda Lambert, Bag Raiders, Hipster BBQ, Sam Smith, Royal Teeth, Frank Ocean, Drake, Shawn Colvin and Cheryl Wheeler.

Mike Herring
Mike Herring is the President of Pandora where he is responsible for company's monetization strategy, including subscription growth, advertising, and music licensing cost.

He is also a key participant in Pandora’s effort to become an indispensable partner to music makers and actively working with the music industry to build win-win partnerships that yield significant benefits for both Pandora and its label and publisher partners.

Prior to joining Pandora, Mike held leadership positions with companies both private and public and, over the past 20 years, has helped develop business models, define markets and drive rapid growth. After a series of start-ups in the 90’s, Mike was the CFO of as it developed one of the first successful and profitable content subscription services at scale, using the power of the internet to create a new market by balancing massive data access, content licensing and consumer demand. He then joined Omniture as CFO as it invented and defined the marketing optimization and data analysis market for SAAS software, a pioneer in both SAAS software financial models and using leverage to build a highly profitable business under significant data and cost constraints. In 2009, Omniture was acquired by Adobe Systems, and before joining Pandora, Mike spent three years working at Adobe leading global operations as the company pivoted from traditional channel CD distribution to cloud subscriptions and direct to enterprise cloud applications. Mike is a certified public accountant and holds a BA degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of California at Los Angeles.

Chris Martin
Chief Technology Officer
Chris joined Pandora in late 2004 just before the company began to transition the business into redefining radio. Since joining the company, he has managed the engineering function at Pandora. Today, Chris oversees a growing team of engineers who are tackling a range of engineering projects, from perfecting playlists to in-car development and advertising technologies. Other projects under his management include software development, quality assurance, customer support, device development, device certification and production support. Prior to joining Pandora, Chris worked in various engineering capacities at multiple enterprise software companies, including Quintus, Kenamea and QRS/Inovis.

Chris is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, where he studied mathematics. Chris was co-MVP of his high school wind ensemble where he played trumpet, baritone and tuba. Today, he favors rap (especially from the late 80s) and 1960s jazz.

Chris Phillips
Chief Product Officer
As Chief Product Officer, Chris Phillips is responsible for defining and leading Pandora's overarching strategy and roadmap for product, engineering and marketing. His team develops, delivers and drives adoption of products that connect fans and artist in new ways, including on-demand, and help advertisers reach their audiences.

Prior to joining Pandora, Chris was Director of Product Management and User Experience for Amazon Digital Music at Amazon. He was responsible for the product roadmap and delivery of customer experiences across device platforms and international expansion. He was also responsible for the product introduction of Amazon Prime Music. Before Amazon, Chris served as Director of Apple QuickBooks product management, marketing and user experience and led product and design for the Intuit Global Business Division at Intuit. He also held roles at Workspeed and Accenture.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration degree from The Ohio State University, Max M. Fisher College of Business. Chris enjoys spending time with his family, live music, playing golf, and mountain biking. Currently Chris’ favorite Pandora stations include Foster the People, Warpaint, Burning Spear, and 2Pac.

Kristen Robinson
Chief Human Resources Officer
Kristen leads the human resources organization and is responsible for Pandora's global people strategies and operations. She is committed to developing an incredible culture where people thrive and generate lasting business success.

Kristen joined Pandora in 2014 from Yahoo, where she led the company's global HR centers of excellence and international HR teams. It was there she contributed to amplifying the culture for transparency, accountability, collaboration and high performance. Kristen focused on the employee experience, creating a great work environment and increasing engagement through the use of technology and superior client service.

Her deep expertise in building global teams for technology companies includes working for Hewlett-Packard, Agilent Technologies, and being the Chief HR Officer of Verigy before joining Yahoo. Kristen brings to Pandora more than 25 years of cross-functional experience in finance, marketing, and new venture management in addition to HR. She is dedicated to mentoring up-and-coming talent and enjoys creative, fast-paced environments where people are committed to excellence.

Kristen holds an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and a B.S. in Accounting from Boston College.

A connoisseur of many types of music, Kristen is passionate about jazz and can't live without her Miles Davis and Bad Plus Pandora stations. She'll mix it up with Andrew Bird, The Black Keys, Radiohead and Philip Glass, depending on the moment.

John Trimble
Chief Revenue Officer
John Trimble serves as the Chief Revenue Officer of Pandora where he is responsible for all advertising revenue, strategic sales marketing, and advertising operations. Pandora's diverse revenue streams tap display, mobile, and audio that reach consumers on their computers, mobile phones, and consumer electronic devices. Pandora’s advertising offerings utilize the super-specific aspects of internet radio: a medium that enables advertisers to reach any type of consumer, anytime, anywhere - based on a multitude of quantifiable data.

Prior to joining Pandora, John was the EVP of sales at Glam Media where he helped guide the company’s revenue and product expansion. Before that, John was part of the executive team tasked by News Corp. to develop and execute the creation of Fox Interactive Media where he was part of the acquisition team that brought and into the Fox Interactive Media fold. He was also responsible for building out all ad marketing and operational functions while overseeing branded sales for MySpace, IGN, Fox, and American John has balanced his digital career with quality brands, in the role of Director of Sales for Sports and with innovative starts ups in his position as Vice President of Sales with Phase2 Media.

John received his BA from St. Lawrence University. When he is not on the road looking for ad partners, John is evolving his station list to keep relevant with his family of four children. His current Pandora line-up features the Counting Crows, the Dropkick Murphy's, Kanye West, U2, and Jack Johnson.
